Cases involving the responses to child sexual abuse in Chabad institutions and communities around the world continue to grow. They include not only the rampant sexual abuse of children in those communities, but also the intimidation and harassment of past victims and their families and supporters. This points to an ongoing cultural problem within Chabad, which is not being taken seriously enough.

This is just disgraceful on so many levels. At least someone had the decency to remove the articles from the Chabad websites.

The Royal Commission held a public hearing in Melbourne from Monday 2 to Friday 13 February 2015. Oral submissions were held on Thursday 17 September 2015.

Survivors who have reported abuse to the authorities in these communities have been evicted from their homes, have lost their jobs, their children have been expelled from their schools, and they have been completely ostracized from their communities and synagogues. Reporting sexual abuse in the Orthodox Jewish community can mean losing everything in the process.
