The thing that makes me most mad about the welfare state is that if someone on welfare decided they wanted to start working the government would give them more difficult regulations than if they stayed on welfare putting them in a situation where some legal mistake in how they choose to run their own business in a unique way would result in them going to jail, making the entire employment system full of unethical corporations that treat their employees & customers in unethical ways to comply
The United States government only had welfare pensions that continued after someone stopped working for people who were in the military or family members of people who were in the military prior to 1920 excluding sources of pension from non-government sources
