I did use the "download the game in many pieces from file sharing sites" method, which has 0% chance of detection, to get the new zelda for PC (comes with emulator). Haven't opened it yet.

@NEETzsche @Tfmonkey Sure, mostly true. The only risks are generally taken by indies or crowdfunders nowadays to create interesting interactive experiences, as opposed to the graphics focused triple A trash big publishers churn out.
All the truly great games were made during the golden age (Deus Ex is my favorite) and as the industry grew in popularity it only went downhill. The popularity of phone games and lootboxes is only making the industry worse.
@Tfmonkey this is the most correct and responsible way to participate in the hobby nowadays. Don't buy day 1. Let them fix the game, because it's almost always released broken. Play old games, because they'll be cheaper and all patched up, and you'll have the complete edition, since the dev released all the cut content they charged money for.
I'm an enthusiast, so I don't always follow these rules of thumb. I do play older games and mod the fuck out of them to squeeze more fun out for free.
