@UncleIroh If society could be said to be a living entity much as humans are a collection of cells, the highest goal does remain the same: to survive and reproduce. Inheritance is a means to the end of want satisfaction which has been stored in capital (either monetary or physical). Each generation seeks to survive and reproduce. I'm not disagreeing; I think inheritance isn't the impetus, however.

Today, idealism attempts to force human nature to act self-destructively (to put it simply).

@UncleIroh Perhaps it has been out of expediency for some and apathy for others:
Some people are inquisitive enough to understand, but they would be a threat to the existing order. Some people would not care and waste the effort in teaching.

The percentage of individuals who would be able to leverage such information effectively to shape society effectively do not merit the investment generally. Those are my thoughts as of now.

@UncleIroh Understanding one's worldview is essential. Contemplations talks about it.

@UncleIroh The battle for the youth certainly is a contentious one. I don't know if it's the real reason behind mass censorship, but it certainly is a large portion. I'll have to consider it more. Perhaps the propaganda geared toward the current middle class, middle-aged people is secondary to the objective of ensuring inculcation of the desired values in the youth?

On the note of the Will of the Force from Star Wars always seeking balance between the dark and the light, if the dark is using the force for your own will, and light is letting yourself be used by the force, on the surface you have few options. While we could explore the idea of your will being the Will of the Force as all return to the Force on death, unfortunately we have a clash of eastern and western thought which is not easily reconcilable. It's better to simply study philosophy.

@susie A solid choice. Spinach works well with multiple spice palettes.

@UncleIroh Indeed. Most people don't think to ask why something is done a certain way or bother to investigate if it always was. The current year is always assumed to be the best (or at least better than prior years in all ways).

It doesn't help that most people's philosophical repertoire is as expansive as a series of platitudes and truisms.

@UncleIroh @Kagekokoro @Stahesh It's difficult to pin it to a few things, but I'm certain the weight of guilt placed upon them by the victors of WWII did not help.

@sickburnbro It's hard to say how long it will take for prices to rise further, but it's a good reason to stock up like everyone should have been doing this whole time.

@MrpoopyButhole It's basically tradition at this point that I use the default modified in some way. Maybe I'll change it in the future.

@ButtWorldsMan @MrpoopyButhole Have we been listening to TFM so long that we know his stories like grandchildren?

@UncleIroh
Given these countries' behaviors, it seems they do not feel compelled to act with haste, which makes sense. They do not seem to emotionally expect or need the "touchdown", "knockout punch" victory.

Even if Russia and Iran know that nuclear war is on the horizon, since time is on their side, why would they not continue to bleed the Regime? What have they to gain by striking now?

@UncleIroh I agree!
Every tool should be available for analysis, especially if it could give you an insight into how someone else thinks. Understanding the other person's worldview provides a great deal of information.

Part of knowing thy enemy is knowing their ontological foundation and their personal cosmology.
