@VooDooMedic The AI has trouble keeping characters consistent. One of the videos has your speakers detaching and disappearing for no reason, but it was otherwise a good clip, so I'm sending it to you here for fun.

@Tfmonkey @VooDooMedic you should leave them detached, his music is hot dog shit.

-Life-long classical/modern musician.

@Chirin_the_Ram @Tfmonkey

How would you fix it then? Just quit? Stop making music? If you're this big shot musician and life long player of instruments how would you fix it?

@VooDooMedic @Tfmonkey also learn some basic music theory. Scales and modes so you can be more specific in your AI prompts.

@Chirin_the_Ram @Tfmonkey I was actually considering taking some courses on music theory so I can actually learn how to make music

@VooDooMedic I have a shortcut to offer when it comes to Suno.

Take a song you like and write lyrics that fit closely with the syllabic count / feel.

Then just plug it into the genre you want and "voila."

Second, sometimes the genre you want to use has self-imposed phrasing rules, and the lyrics won't go how you want them to go.

Just generate the song in a different genre until you get a structure you're happy with, then do a "cover" in the original genre you wanted. Voila Part Deux.

Follow

@VooDooMedic Here's an example. I wrote this song:
youtu.be/w2rQ2W1_Yd0?si=gMEds4

while imagining this song:
youtu.be/BjyzvC1svno?si=zvTeG7

Take my lyrics and see how it could fit into the original.

@RoninGrey covers are the best way to adapt your song while keeping the identity of the old in tact the cadence and the time in which it takes to say the words is good too

@VooDooMedic I copied the song structure exactly. This guy who wrote this was a phenomenal writer and wrote a lot of my favorite music.

@VooDooMedic Yes, but use it to copy the melody exactly the same. No lyrical instructions. Use the auto-generated ones it gives you on the original. The only instructions should be in the Style section.

@VooDooMedic I like your music. Seal wrote "Kiss From a Rose" without knowing any "rules." And it allowed him to do some cool things in it.

I 100% encourage you to learn music theory, but it's not necessary. Slash from Guns 'n Roses can't read music either.

@VooDooMedic If you ever feel stuck, just reach out to me. I'm happy to offer advice. I've been writing music for 20-something years, former Union, received royalties, played in front of thousands, several instruments, been in choir, band, private lessons, taught lessons in several instruments, studio musician, played with traveling professionals who come into town, in bar bands with strangers for just $100 bucks & a free steak, whatever. Doesn't matter.

I'm glad to help our people for free.

@RoninGrey killing it man you're doing heaps to help already, what's your x @?

@RoninGrey actually imma start my stream if you wanted to come chill while I play with songs for the background music for the show?

@RoninGrey everything broke and OBS is refusing to start the stream I have to trouble shoot it gimme 20

@VooDooMedic It just keeps spinning and spinning. Not playing.

@VooDooMedic Yoi probably already know this, but you can also move the lyrics in Suno into a previous line if you want it to "pickup" into the next line rather than start those lyrics right in the beginning of the next measure / bar.

Then I just move the lyrics back down when I clean up my lyrics so they are easier to read. Also, sometimes this helps:

She's aging
[BRIDGE]
faster, raising her bastard

***
And it picked up the lyrics sooner, rather than right on the first beat.

@VooDooMedic You might laugh, but I did the same with this one:
youtu.be/m6HsIbAgJ7E?si=Bc_hdO

while imagining this song:
youtu.be/7vB_A_QcC5U?si=IbllEH

Match my lyrics to the way "Josie" sings it.
