@Tfmonkey are you learning some language in case you will need to flee US?
So far I am learning major languages and few others for almost 2 months Mandarin, Spanish, Russian and Arabic. for basics I use duolingo.
So far it is pretty good but with my poor memory it takes long to remember few words 🦥
@LysanderMooner So far i can understand few word so far I only have section 1 unit 3 first bubble and few in pinyin with hanzi
@Stahesh I got super addicted to Duolingo
That's what makes it my favorite to learn and finished the Chinese course several times and I'd say I can speak up to about a B3 level CEFR if I remember correctly
@LysanderMooner I like it it is pretty good source to get basic knowledge.
When I will be able to read basic things I will be able to watch videos read websites and maybe some books to read in original.
It is often good to read it in original languages because many things are lost in translation.
I often watch chinese fantasy movies with martial arts they often have original dabing with english subtitles.
@Stahesh Pick one! You won't get anywhere by splitting your efforts.
@Mongoliaboo I will it will take some time but this is one of few things that will keep me busy for while.
I wanted in future to know these major languages.😇
Memorize a sentence and then learn to change a single noun or verb in the sentence
And use every noun and verb from that vocabulary list
Keep it in the same verb tense every time
Then after you have done that for every noun and verb tense you choose change the verb tense and repeat
Write each sentence in both your native language and the language you want to learn
You can also sit in different stretches while writing to exercise if on a safe surface to stretch
When you do the sentence writing exercise if you are in a language that requires certain genders or singular or plural to match you may have to change some of the words in the sentence to match the gender and singular or plural of the other words
So only do words with one gender before switching to words of another gender
And only do singular or plural first before switching to the other one
@Stahesh @Mongoliaboo
Stare at a vocabulary list that is very short
And try to write down all the words on the list without looking at it then check your spelling
Every word that you spelled wrong write a bunch of times
Then go back and try to write the spelling for all the words on the list without looking at them a second time
Repeat until you get every word correct
Then use a new list
Do the same thing with the new list
Combine the two lists and repeat until you get every word correct
@Zeb @37712 I live in Czech Republic that is between Germany, Poland & Austria.
So closes is Russia but that is pretty nukeble especially cities in europe
Another option would be middle east but majority of it is close to Israel and the other are expensive like UAE Dubai
Maybe Turkiye if they decide to join with brics but that would require turkish language.
and then is South America with Asia for me.
But there is another problem for me as Gen Z I did not have time to make money to move
@Stahesh @Zeb @37712 You could learn Russian and emigrate to Russia. You'd have to start from nothing, but it might be doable. The Volga has very fertile farmland, and farming is a quiet life if that is what you desire. You could also work in Russian oil fields and make good money if you don't mind the cold or the dry.
@Stahesh 我的中文好因为每天用了多邻国
