@Tfmonkey

How do I not feel resentment towards friends who are doing better then me in terms of earnings? Is it about trade offs or is there something else I'm missing

@VooDooMedic the competition is only with yourself. You should be happy for your friends who are doing well.

Live the life you want and be happy. How others are doing, both better and worse, are irrelevant to you. If your friend was doing worse that you, it wouldn't make you life any better, it would be exactly the same except your friend would be suffering.

So share in the happiness of your friends and stop trying to "win".

@Tfmonkey that's what my first thought was, then the resentment started to seep in I was truly happy for him and my brain was like yes that's awesome but you only earnt 1/10 of that, then my other side was like "yes but counter argument: he also is working like 140 hours a fortnight"

@YoMomz @VooDooMedic Explore why you want your friends to fail to be happy yourself, and it likely sparks from an unspoken competition you're holding in your mind against your friend to see who the "best" is, and you feel you're losing.

That competition doesn't exist. You're making yourself suffer unnecessarily.

@Tfmonkey @YoMomz you're 100% right, but I am competitive, how do I stop this feeling towards my closest friend? Or is it simply a mindset problem that I need to correct?

@Tfmonkey @YoMomz so the competition with others is a misnomer? Like in general? I shouldn't be trying to compete with others? I should just try and best my own personal bests?
