Priviatizing science would reduce such errors becauss they would make corporations lose money
What you say makes perfect sense in theory but doesn't actually pan out in reality.
The problem with privatizing research is that if you come across a breakthrough that would lead into less profitability that study doesn't get published.

As long as probability based statistics tests are used and the conclusion is come to by an arbitrary choice of alpha value that would be different for another arbitrarily chosen alpha value
And the raw data is not published but only the conclusion of statistical significance or failure to find statistical sugnificance for that alpha value
( Which is how most medical and social science research works )
