If your reaction to the Chinese spy balloon is "I can't believe that the Chinese are spying on us!" I have some bad news for you. Other countries are always spying on us, just as we are spying on them. Us finding on example of how it was being done should not make you shocked that we are being spied on.

Besides, our own government does it, and they hate us more than the Chinese government does.

@jjetty >Sponsorship by Pfizer just after the satanic performance

How fitting.

The nurse shortage in many parts of the US shows that we cannot guarantee that there will be a ready supply of labor for a given field. Any moron who thinks that nationalizing health care will fix this issue does not consider that capitalism is not the cause, nor do they actually have a means to fix the shortage issue. They simply see healthcare as an unlimited resource that is being withheld by rich greedy people.

Besides, it was government vaxx mandates that caused the shortages.

allow me to explain:

This person does not take this as an 'own'. Even if he's cheering the ultimate result that the Republicans wanted, what he opposed was their decision-making process of "just shoot it down".

And he's right to oppose that. He's probably not that right about the thought processes of the people he's attacking: if pressed, they'd certainly agree that the military should of course shoot it down in a sensible manner, and not drop it right over a full kindergarten.

His error is really that he imagines that Biden and the military will have a much more in-depth discussion. As a leftist, he's a lickspittle of power, a worshiper and an admirer of it. He sees unwashed peasants making dumb demands of his brilliant technocratic government and he's disgusted by a contrast that isn't real. As, in the end it was surely some Biden handler saying "just shoot it down" to some general in the military, and any smart decision-making only happened at the very end of the process, by low-level officers who might as well have been posting "just shoot it down" that morning.

@I_AmTheKnight I think they have the tanks, they just don't want to give them to Ukraine. Even if they would not get destroyed (and they probably would), those are tanks they do not think they can spare.

I see this as a sign of the US supremacy in decline. This will not be an end to other challenges, as Russia and China (and others) would be happy to make sure the US is no longer able and willing to exert their will on the world.

@WashedOutGundamPilot women will take painstaking efforts in applying makeup but not put the same effort towards eating better and exercising. No amount of makeup is going to fix a fat face and body.

That is why I see China having a chance more than many other countries. What good is it being "the best" in aspects such as GDP production, military, technology, or any other major aspect of a big player in the world if you cannot even keep up a replacement birth rate. You cannot have a lasting major power if you cannot even sustain it with human capital.

So if China ends up making the changes they would need to make to reverse course, they may just win by default.

Among the major players in the world, I can see China being more likely to have a future. That is because I see articles about how the Chinese government is going directly against feminism. Granted, these may be small actions, but let us consider the current Chinese system. What exactly is stopping them from hitting the gas and really "taking women's rights away?" Nothing really, since they do not have to worry about elections.

@WashedOutGundamPilot Reminds me of my current sentiments. Just what do I have to be patriotic for? A country that is becoming more and more of a leftist hellhole that demonizes my existence for me being born a white male?

Yeah, I'll pass. Maybe they should not have killed the golden goose.

@furgar If he thinks he is going to make 200k entry level, I have some news for him. Either he won't (most likely outcome) or he will be living in a shoebox with a roommate since it turns out most of that 6 figures gets eaten away by the cost of living.

There are other jobs you can do if you are just wanting to make money.

@furgar No wait, he is right. Just think about it for a moment.

@mushroom_soup The first issue is the roommate wanted to start a fight. "But I was drunk" is no excuse, as you being drunk does not make you do something you did not truly want to do. When I used to drink, I never once tried to start a fight.

In short, he is a violent asshole for wanting to fight even when drunk. The alcohol just removed the inhibition to do what he really wants to do.

Kicking the cat is another extension of the same assholishness. But in a way worse.

People will literally call Russia a totalitarian state while this shit happens all over the satrapies of Sacred DemocracyLand

@basedbagel Yes, they are foolish. That is exactly why they kept pushing. They must have thought, "Men still participate fully even though we have altered the deal, so difference will it make to push things a little further?" They must have freaked out that men started to just stop playing the game, because in the end, they know they need men.

Backing out will be nearly impossible, thanks to women voting. It is not as if they can give men a better deal. But they pushed too far and too fast.

@basedbagel It is easier to kill momentum of ideas when they are smaller in scope. From their view, if too many men check out of the role of being the dutiful productive citizen, they not only are not creating more economic output, but they might get other ideas. Ideas such as, "Why would I want to fight for my country?" You can see this with the military recruiting crisis (though the vaxx mandates were not helping either).

Men checking out = a decline in the system.

@basedbagel The only "threat" that MGTOW supposedly presents is that it gets men to stop living their lives for the benefit of women. Namely, to stop putting in a lot of work to impress them. This often means they are earning less money, which means they are being less productive. This means the government gets less in taxes and economic output, which lessens their power.

But MGTOW did not cause this. It is more of a label than anything. Men will still respond based on present conditions.

@Aether I had no faith in any western live adaptation of One Piece succeeding, and that was before there was any announcements. Even if they are faithful to the source material, I still do not see this as a good prospect. And I doubt they will be all that faithful.

Too many of these adaptation try to appeal to "the general public" and end up watering down the source material. And that is before we factor in any libshit propaganda they might try to shove in there.
