@FinalDresdonation My dad is on the edge of the generations, so in some ways he is more of a Gen X type, as he recognizes that Social Security is a doomed system that is unfair to younger generations. Though I do recall him saying unironically that Israel is our greatest ally, so that is prime boomer generation.
My boomer dad serves as a good measuring stick for what the conservatives of his generation have for a worldview. And for the most part, it is frustrating to get him to see things from a perspective that is not the controlled opposition "right wing" sources of news he gets.
But it made me realize that things can get better when the older generations are no longer in charge (mainly due to them finally dying). Can, but not guaranteed, as we still have to get through the hard times that are coming

But the journalists reporting on the small business closures are just flat out refusing to acknowledge that four years of insane government monetary policy, working class abuse, rampant inflation and completely unjustifiable immigration levels has had anything to do with it.
You can scroll back on some byline bandit's article history and they'll have published multiple articles about inflation woes, or the fallout from the lockdown era of covid, or how immigration is straining your health system, but they'll only ever make a passing reference to these, if at all. To them, they are tangential issues distracting from the Current Thing of small business struggles, and they'll blame it entirely on "unsustainable costs of living" as if that's a cause, not a symptom. They expect you to suffer temporary amnesia when they write about the sort of thing we predicted YEARS in advance, and belittle you when you try to tell them I TOLD YOU SO. "Things just happen bro, not EVERYTHING has to be connected. You realise that's conspiracy theorist coded, right?"
This is why they hate Elon Musk so much. Not because he's based or anything (he's not), but because his weird combination of principles, billionaire playboy obsessions, and Fuck You Money is propping up a social media platform that lets you harass these retarded opinion havers for having retarded opinions. @Furgar No surprise that Reddit has so much that is fake and gay. When posts suddenly got over 10K and nearly 100K upvotes, I was more suspicious of tampering on their end.
I suspect that they are doing a whole lot of sock puppet accounts with just a small number of people controlling all of them. Though as for why there is an exact copy of the post and comments, I am puzzled. The ones on the right all have accounts that look like the names were auto-generated (word-word-number combo).
I call bullshit on the "anti-semitism" reports on college campuses. The people protesting are almost all leftists, who are only opposed to Israel as an apartheid state and are fine with everything else Jewish. Though of course the "being against Israel means you hate Jews" card is played, so we can see that nuance does not exist when it comes to those against the Zionist agenda.
Leftists are most certainly not on my side, but I know they are not bring portrayed accurately here.
