I actually feel better now that I eat food with other people less often

I went to a lot of group meetings with food involved and now I am happy not to be a part of the group meetings where I get punished for expressing my own ideas and to just freely choose who I do not associate with anymore

I see people sticking their hands in their mouth as they eat food then touching everything and I do not want to touch the things they touch

And they will sometimes take the spoons and forks they used to eat food on their plate and grab food from a plate of other food touching the food the other people are supposed to eat with the utensils they ate from

Then there are the people who use dip and the dip gets contaminated

& they grab food with their hands from a pile of food & so on

At a certain point I accepted that I do not like eating with other people

Even if I meet people I tell them I do not want to eat food with them

It makes them unhappy but it makes me very happy

I do not have to worry as much about accidental food contamination

Also I knew a man who was very skinny to a unhealthy degree and he said he got food poisoning from eating at potlocks or groups where they share food cooked by each other

I have peace of mind eating alone
