if i said that, i overstated; though i distinctly remember mentioning that its style was strongly drawn to journo/academic styles rather than.outright saying it writes like a journoid. to be clear, chatgpt's tone was predominantly influenced by journoidspeak and academic-speak, and rlhf pulled it toward a register that appealed primarily to normies/foids i.e. more like corporate journalism.

nonsense. journalistic style is itself no monolith. its principles and vocabulary across domains influences ai, but like any other class of writers, there are ever-finer distinctions between.journalistic voice. The Sun does not write like the Daily Mail.

my point in my first post on this thread was that you tried that and came to the wrong conclusion. i don't think i read a different article than you. it wasn't tommy who wrote that article as you agree, but i contend that it wasn't an llm. the coarse stylistic cues you're drawing on like That One Construction are "Not Surefire Tells Of LLM Authorship — They're A Rhetorical Trick That Predates Sam Altman's Birth."
