Everyone is what they call an "egg," the trans inside still waiting to break out of the shell (which is a negative analogy insinuating restriction and constraint), and if you deny anyone coming out of that shell you will "kill" that trans person. No one is actually dying, you're just preventing the corruption

I feel like I've seen this story before in some fantasy stories. Every human (they used some fancy name that wasn't "human" like how Xenoblade has the "homs") has the potential to become a demon, and it just takes another demon's corruption to complete the transformation. When it does happen, a new demon is born, and the original human is effectively irreversibly killed off. Goodness gracious, when you think about it that way, it makes a whole lot more sense
