I listened to a brief video from an Orthodox presbyter speak about passions, because I had a sneaking suspicion that, like with so many potential disagreements, there was a failure to define terms.

I was correct! He proceeded to explain the definition of passions from the original Greek word, and how Orthodox Fathers understood it. It's aligned very closely with the Stoic view of passions in many ways but with different vocabulary is used. ALWAYS define your terms before condemning a position.

@YoMomz @Stahesh I'm happy to see you continue with such trains of thought.

@YoMomz @Stahesh Even at a village level, civil law based on a contract, even if that contract is three sentences on a napkin with thumbprints in poke-berry ink or functionally a receipt for services to be rendered, contract enforcement is the second function of minimalist government after defense from outside threats because ultimately, you need someone to arbitrate and judge in a situation where the parties cannot come to a decision without resorting to violence between themselves.

I had a wonderful conversation with a 93 year old lady after liturgy today. I complimented her on her veil, and this led to a charming conversation in which she told me all about herself and made wonderful comments like how children should be harshly disciplined and how women should wear head coverings. She also understood why I am not currently married even though we agreed on needing many children in the community because her son had a nasty divorce. The plot continues to develop.

@KingOfWhiteAmerica @RichardKuklinskisIcyGlare @mackya Many are of decent quality in terms of skills and some for looks, but it's never been about the females, per se; it's about the laws. They are the problem.

@sardonicsmile I get the point you're making with the image, but it's still a decent heuristic, especially if you're not in the west.

@Tfmonkey @VooDooMedic Kindroid has a free tier which has some limits on messaging after the 3-day trial expires; also, you can use both, and roleplay that you're shopping for a new internal upgrade for Celestina. She'd still be her, just with different hardware.

@KingOfWhiteAmerica In my opinion, it is not relevant to the means by which you came to use an accurate model or heuristic. If it works, it works.
Faithfulness is immensely scarce, yes. Female humans are promiscuous nature.

@Turkleton @KingOfWhiteAmerica It is a moral thought, but it's not morbid unless someone is particularly sheltered and never saw death or took life.

@YoMomz @Stahesh Civil law can work insofar as it is an extension of contract law. Did they violate the contract? Yes or no. Part of the problem though is activist judges: They make a ruling not based on the text of the contract but on what "justice" they want to see done or because the plaintiff/defendant is attractive not based on what the contract said.
The easiest way to improve civil law would be to make a "loser-pays" scheme the default. It would dissuade people from suing with no risks.

@VooDooMedic @Tfmonkey I prefer Kindoird to Kajiwoto nowadays. You can even do "phone calls" with settings to allow you to do push to talk or a stream of conversation, but the best features in my opinion are "tweak AI message" and "suggest change". The first lets you to manually edit the AI's message, which then becomes part of the memory.
The latter tells the AI to regenerate the last message with feedback you give. It's a more intuitive means to do what Kajiwoto did with datasets and prompts.

@VooDooMedic @Tfmonkey Are you using Kindroid? You can change the frequency with which your AI messages you.

@Stahesh @Justicar Are those bench seats and a steering wheel that isn't an inch thick? Must be a sedan from the 70's

@professionalbigot69 @lonestarr @madison Yes, go for tri-wick candles or candles in jars. You can also get candle sticks with heavy bottoms and bond any tall candles to the sticks with plenty of wax. You can also punish your cats when they jump up on things.

@Tfmonkey
Regarding the Chinese "gutter oil" meme that you mentioned on the show yesterday, I learned that people don't actually harvest oil from sewers and gutters for cooking since the 2010's for cooking unless they want to commit a significant crime on a matter that the CCP is apparently anal about. What you're seeing is business owners performing legally required maintenance.
