@RoninGrey True that the movie was generally bad. The scene just popped into my head and brought out my thoughts.

It used to be that females would slap a guy who grabbed their ass, not just look awkwardly uncomfortable, and society accepted that as just. It was physical. With a slap she in no uncertain terms made it clear that she didn't want his advance. The whole matter was resolved with an even exchange of violence, not this extreme, feminine reaction where someone's life is destroyed from an inappropriate touch because nothing is more henous to a female than an interaction with an unworthy male.

Allow me to rant about something:

In "Man of Steel", Superman wraps a truck of a restaraunt patron around a pole because the patron made a sexual pass at the waitress. This is supposed to be "just deserts" for the man who is inteded to be seen as a villain.

The scene is juvenile and feminine. Superman, who is to embody virtue, just cost a man his livelihood in an emotional outburst. Even if insurance covered it, it cost the insurance company because he was offended on behalf of m'lady.

Perfect example of “won’t someone not me do something”

@matrix Who let her buy all that garbage instead of real food?

@VooDooMedic Trump is a very poorly written character. He acts like a puppet for another character, very poorly disguised. I would recommend the author streamline his position at least somewhat because the readers won't take him seriously at all.

@Tfmonkey You should also checkout Revival Fitness on YT and talk to him about your exercise needs. He is a trainer in the LA area who is actually competent and doesn't try to scam people.

@Tfmonkey Clavicular did get plastic surgery, and quite a bit of it. He didn't do everything he did with a hammer. I'm not criticizing what he's doing, but I need to correct you on this.

@Invictus Because they have no shame, no pride, no standards they see worth preserving, just mechanical existence.

@MCMLXVIIOTG @deprecated_ii Agreed. It's too inefficient in design. There is a reason the current container ships look like they carry an apartment building in thier belly.

Considering I come off like a religious nut, it’s understandable if people might conclude hastily that I’m “anti-science”. Nothing could be further from the truth.

I’m really a huge science nerd; which is why the fact that Science in The West came to a screeching halt in the 1930s pains me so thoroughly. Any actual scientific progress made since then has been in spite of the Establishment.

@DoubleD AI can't replace tech workers, but it can be a tool to make them more productive. They can do 75%-85% of the work for you, but they can't do 100%.

@Tfmonkey
This video is very technical so, I'll summarize it.
This guy built a website to 85% completion with deepseek for less than $1 in 30 minutes.

I know 85% doesn't sound like much, but it's impressive for an AI and saves loads of dev time. If you have the knowledge to leverage MCP servers with non-state of the art models like deepseek, you can do amazing things for tiny amounts of money.
This was also back in April of 2025.

@Tfmonkey
Onions: sweet mostly.
Potatoes (not Russets, but a variety like Kennebec): savory, a little bitter
Rhubarb: sweet, sour
Cabbage: umami, bitter
Carrots: sweet, savory (depending on the variety)
Parsley: savory, bitter
Swiss Chard: savory, bitter
Beets: umami, bitter, sweet (depending on the variety)

It's really hard to lump some flavors into the five categories (though I know them) because they are more nuanced, especially the aromatics like garlic and onions.

@Tfmonkey Vegetables: Umami, sweet and bitter, depending on the vegetable.
Rutabegas are sweet and umami.
Celery is bitter and savory.

Good bread is mostly umami.

@Tfmonkey Based on your comments about vegetables not tasting like anything (which you've made similarly about bread) you've only ever eaten store-bought or commercial-grade bread and vegetables, and in that I do include most Amish and farmer's market food.

Sourdough bread that you make yourself from ancient grains like einkorn or antique whole wheat varieties has amazing flavor just like vegetables that you grow yourself organically have excellent flavor.
