For the Christians here. What version of the bible do you guys read?

@Goalkeeper

And where did you get the bible because I worry about the censorship.

I can't say, it's been in my family for a long time.

@Mommy @Goalkeeper Any mainstream non-liberal translation should be free from censorship generally. The NIV (New International Version), a modernist non-literalist translation removes the term jews in parts of the NT, so stay awy from ones like that. But any normal copy of the bible in the NABRE, ESV, KJV, RSV2CE, Douay-Rhiems and some others shouldn't have any "censorship" in it, that's more a feature of modernist translations than ones who try to be more literal.

This is a good website to see which translations you like. You can compare the same verses in different translations like the one in the link: biblegateway.com/verse/en/John%203%3A3
@Mommy @Goalkeeper No problem. Tbh the big thing to look out for is bad interpretations and commentaries of the bible. For instance, the infamous Scolfield Reference Bible was a perfectly normal KJV bible that had zionist commentary within its pages.
Fun fact: the Book of Mormon is more important to them
@sapphire

Not technically true. But they do regard it as the most authoritative English edition currently available.

@Mommy @Goalkeeper
KJV for pleasure and Oxford Annotated Bible for when I want to debate.
@Hyperhidrosis @Mommy Jesus literally screamed at the kikes selling goats in His temple. He's not perfect, but that's the point
@Mommy RSV2CE
Also the NCB (New Catholic Bible) has good footnotes that I've quoted before.
Second for RSV2CE. I also like the Douay-Rheims. Thank you friends.
@lonestarr

Good picks. I don’t lean on one in particular and readily check multiple if something seems confusing.

If I still don’t get it I check the German translations

@Mommy @wgiwf
we wuz sentient n sheeiiitt :calvin_hobbs_laugh:

@Mommy

You can buy it on Amazon or directly from the publishers.

@Mommy

If I want to look up strong concordance numbers King James or New American Standard Bible

If I want something easy to read New International Version or Contermporary English Version

New International Version had made changes without listing the edition so I do not trust it but the English used to be easy to understand

If I am talking to Catholics Douay Rheims

If I am pointing out kike heresy Jewish Publication society 1913

Look into Basics of Biblical Greek by Mounce

@Mommy
"Novum Testamentum Graece (The New Testament in Greek) is a critical edition of the New Testament in its original Koine Greek published by Deutsche Bibelgesellschaft (German Bible Society), forming the basis of most modern Bible translations and biblical criticism."

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Novum_Te
This might list the most manuscript variants of any version of the new testament and it has multiple languages of these variants including Syriac even though it is written mainly in Greek

-No English

@Mommy

"Williams faults the critical apparatus of the Nestle-Aland Greek New Testament for frequently citing the ancient Syriac versions in a misleading way"

voice.dts.edu/review/pj-willia

Novum Testamentum Graece is for people who want to read the Bible in foreign ancient languages and not for English reading

@Mommy

I meant JPS 1917 tanakh if pointing out why Kike heretics are wrong I put the wrong year of 1913

@Mommy

If you only want to use one translation in English that is both easy to understand and conveys a lot of potential meanings then amplified is good but it might sound funny when read out loud because it is like reading long lists embedded in sentences

Anything in this type of parenthesis ( ) is not in the original text but the guess of a scholar such as the example in Daniel 7

biblegateway.com/passage/?sear

In Daniel 7 they list items that scholars speculate symbolize certain nations

KJV. If I do not understand a passage I toggle over to NIV in Biblegateway.
@Mommy I grew up with and still use the New International Version (NIV).

@Mommy

its all jewish, what are you reading jewish lies for?

@ankokukishi

When in Rome I must do what the Romans do. Also. I have a Christian upbringing but I stopped being Christian at 19. Also. Religion is what keeps strangers together. I am doing this in an effort to get my face out there and have a community that'll have my back when times get tough. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. Who knows?

Just ignore this sperg when it comes to these matters, he's a flat-earther among other things.
