In modern times, a good man is defined as someone who makes himself useful to and serves women.

In ancient times, philosophers defined a good man as one who acts with wisdom, justice, courage, and moderation.

No ancient philosopher ever defined a good man in relation to serving women, taking care of women, providing for women, etc.

My hunch is that it began with Christianity wherein "good men" sacrificed their lives for God, and in time gynocentrism replaced sacrifice for God with women.

I have 2 responses to this, one serious and one not.

The idea of the "Good Man" is inseperable from the concept of Chivalry, and Chivalry was basically the unnamed Christian Reformation. No-one except MRA's ever talk about it, but it's legit.

The roots of Chivalry and it's Orders Of Knighthood stretch all the way back to 12th century Europe and encoded a set of morals and behaviours that kicked off the whole tradition of female worship.

@Tfmonkey

Think of the archetypal Knight bending on one knee and bowing his head in subservience before his Lady while she decides whether to bestow him with "honor", simply by virtue of her existence as a Lady of the Court.

That was a soft corruption of Christian values from where it originated. And yes, it marked the beginning of the end. No other culture has placed their women above men in this way.

Disney, and all the harm it has done is just the 20th century inheritor of the same idea.

@Tfmonkey
Romantic Chivalry isn’t love. It’s just glorified begging, ground zero for the Western simping and cuckoldry trend.

It makes narcissists and children of women, and simps of men.

@Tfmonkey

Like all Reformations, this split Christianity into 2 distinct paths: Western and Eastern.

The Eastern Orthodox Church never accepted that bullshit and kept faith with the origins of Christianity, while the West kept on reforming into ever smaller splinter factions until you have what you see now in Protestantism.

The Oriental Orthodox Church in Ethiopia trumps everyone. They have an unbroken lineage of true Christian liturgy and works for almost 2 thousand years.

@Tfmonkey
I understand that you have a hate-boner for Christianity, but in the larger scheme of things what you're actually hating, and by extension what your upstream hero Nietzsche also hated, was the result of a corrupt Western reformation of Christianity.

You're right, it's corrupt and worth crapping on, but it's not Christianity.

@UncleIroh No, you're wrong, but your perspective is no uncommon.

The "true" Christianity was a cult formed by jewish Roman slaves which is why it has a slave/herd morality. It's right there in the "Sermon on the Mount"

Roman Catholics injected some Roman culture and values into Christianity and improved it, which Protestantism removed the Roman elements in the belief that the Roman additions corrupted it.

But you can pretend "true" Christianity is whatever you want it to be if you want.

@Tfmonkey
Every religion was a cult at some point, every one. I don't get your point there.

If you really understood Roman values you would know how absurd your claim is - they couldn't be further apart. The book for showing that is the excellent "Dominion" by Roman historian Tom Holland.

As for pretending, there's at least a billion Christians outside of the Western lineage that you hate so much. No-one's making them up, they exist.

Turns out my "perspective" is simply the facts.

@Tfmonkey
In fact I would go further and claim that the silent reformation of Chivalric ethics has turned Western Christianity into a heresy.

That is a perspective, though not a common one.

@Tfmonkey Fuck TFM, I dont even know what this country even sacrifices for, woke culture, satanism, communism, progressivism, NPCs just do as their masters program them to do. there are so few of us real players that I doubt that we can even help shape the future, if I ever make it rich I would just join the cathedral, why fight them when you can join them right.

@Tfmonkey being Roman Catholic, as much as I would like to disagree with you, I can't.
