Having a family is the sticking point. I hear you, you should want a family.

But there is absolutely no arguing - you either live in a patriarchal community that has a plan for dealing with female nature on steroids, or you place you and your children's fate entirely in the hands of a woman who will statistically end the LARP for no good reason and destroy everything.

Or you move to a patriarchal country.

To be clear, older generations absolutely have a duty to guide the younger. But the rate of cultural change has become so fast, there is even a breakdown of understanding within the same generation.

Multi-generational homes no longer exist. Hell, nuclear families hardly exist. This is an entirely new thing.

But ..what we have here in this community is a great example of how to reverse that. Lots of inter-generational wisdom going on in here.

Using generations as a unit of time has been around since before the bible so that's not going anywhere.

Turns out it's also a useful way to track other metrics - economics, cultural change, birth/death rates etc..

We're only just realizing how important generational coherence is to people's sanity as we watch the rate of technological change dissolve those bonds in real time.

The best example is the change in women. It's been absolutely shocking to witness.
