As long as you do not say you have to obey the Church in your basement or obey some other authority figure because they are an authority figure and not because what they are telling you is something you should do for other reasons then you are more legitimate than I would estimate at least 96% of Churches

I was watching videos claiming researchers found out raccoons were almost as smart as monkeys and I was thinking maybe raccoons are smarter than monkeys in fact maybe if raccoons had opposable thumbs and a voicebox that allows talking in sentences they would be making human level technology or surpass humans because their body nit their brain is holding them back

But I am not familiar enough with all the species of monkeys and raccoons to be more specific

Even if I felt after praying like Joseph Smith really was inspired by god to write the book of mormon and that the book of mormon contained words from god himself I still would not join the mainstream mormon Church

Because that would not convince me that I should join a church or which Church to join

There are multiple competing mormon Churches but the mainstream Mormon Church claims to be the correct one & that you need rituals through them
