@mutageno2 That may be somewhat true, in another timeline where everything works as it should. In our world, when the government is corrupt and tyrannical, you should be against the death penalty. "Justice" and violence dictated by the collective are a negative, if you're an individualist. And one might add that in a society ruled by the weak, criminals are desirable, if only to cull the disease.

Being "psychologically and pathologically distinct" from this population might just be the solution

@Zeb @FinalDresdonation They mistakenly thought Russia and China would back them against Israel. Now they're seeing the US, mainly through Trump, paint them as their next target and they're running scared, as they should be.

Many Iranians will be sacrificed on the altar of WW3, but once the fight is between them and America, the East will back them up, while Israel cheers on both sides from the corner.

Not everyone would comply of course and it would take some time, but if they inconvenienced people's lives enough, offered some mechanical replacement for the finger, promoted the procedure through celebrities and rewarded the amputees, most would submit and many would even see it as a symbol of status for a time.

There's very little collectivists won't do for money, safety and status.
