@kaede_waifu I've spoken to someone who works with garments professionally, and they said something to that effect: multiple wash cycles can help set the dyes so they're less likely to bleed. For the tighter fit, you'd have to have things fitted by a seamstress or learn to work on garments yourself. It's not a lucrative trade because clothes are cheap right now, but it is a handy skill to have.
@theFlow As to the question of affording children, it's a question of standards of living. You might not be able to afford the best healthcare, but maybe you can get cold medicine still. A feature of life in hyperinflation is that there is no closed system wherein we can observe all the variables. What I do know is that black markets exist, and as things get less and less stable economically, the government will become more and more desperate to maintain power. Do not be there when it breaks.
@theFlow Argentina just hit triple digit inflation this year in a year-over-year comparison. The Hyperinflation has really just started after you hit triple-digit inflation, it's not long before the currency either collapses or you have quadruple digit inflation. Make no mistake, double-digit inflation is really bad, but nothing compared to the run-away nature of hyperinflation.
@theFlow By not being there, by having commodities to trade and the means to protect them, or by having skills to fix things, to fix people, or to create things is how you survive during hyperinflation.
@kaede_waifu Sweet. Maybe the issue is certain dyes that bleed, but not all polyester or nylon as such.
@ButtWorldsMan I see the personal injustice against all that the archetypical male has striven centuries to build: a world of order opposed to the forces of disintegration--without by other males and within by their own females--for that is what this is: disintegration. It is a mental diaspora of the wiser faculties of the male mind for the sake of social acceptance and a pittance of pussy.
I am reminded though that such is the fate conceded by the weak of spirit and the destitute of will.
@ButtWorldsMan I see nothing funny. I see a female doing what female nature and society encourages her to do. I see a male suffering the effects thereof.
Are you ready to stop this in the name of your pride and your self-respect, western man?
I know what it is to have no self-respect and therefore not fight back or even speak against it; so, I feel compassion for men in this situation. A precious few can save themselves by their own will, but it is the only way to be saved.
@BiggusDiccus Watch historical documentaries, they often have the best stuff on how it used to be done, especially with hand tools if you're going for that. You can also dig into how people make whiskey and wine barrels today. Modern videos tend to cut parts of the process out though the hobbyists often will at least explain things.

@theFlow Porn?
@Shlomo That is precious and wholesome!
@BiggusDiccus No books, I'm afraid. To learn to cooper, I had to watch hours of youtube videos and even then, it's never as good as an actual teacher.
@ButtWorldsMan If she says it's 4+5=12, you tell her she's wrong, and then you have your 8 year old son tutor his mother because clearly she needs to go back to elementary school.
@ButtWorldsMan I like his assessment: Accurate and pithy.
@ButtWorldsMan @mrhorsetwat @VooDooMedic @Tfmonkey We shall see" is and always has been a favourite of mine.
@Shlomo The AI-generated individual in that image reminds me of a Muppet alien you'd see in Mos Eisley.
@UncleIroh Looks like someone didn't read the washing machine user manual.
@ButtWorldsMan @YoMomz I am grateful you can bring these things to the wider world such as it is.
@VooDooMedic @Tfmonkey @mrhorsetwat The advice to just swap out the carb for lettuce or eggs is good advice for most people though who are less concerned than I am about these things.
@VooDooMedic @Tfmonkey @mrhorsetwat ..., but homegrown Kennebec or other heirloom varieties of potatoes or homemade rye bread/whole wheat sourdough are above and beyond being just vehicles for other things. Even rice can be eaten enjoyably by itself without any sauce or toppings if it is prepared correctly and is of good quality.
@VooDooMedic @Tfmonkey @mrhorsetwat I was listening to the Saturday show, and I need to make mention of something: good potatoes, good bread, and good rice are not just filler, and they don't taste the same. I will grant that most commercially available products such as your average Russet potatoe or your generic white bread at Aldi, don't taste very good and are used by the masses as vehicles for other products such as meats and vegetables.
Yes, I am THAT DoubleD.
No, I will not explain further.
