I believe TFM said incidents like the current war in Israel were going to happen. The US lost it's place as the world's police in showing weakness, and behold how conflicts appear all around the world. The cat isn't just away so the mice can play; the cat is in bed dying of cancer, and the mice are having a rave.

@UncleIroh @VooDooMedic I'm sure there's a happy middle-ground where you can still identify the individual's sex while preventing females from advertising themselves.

@VooDooMedic Well, there are varying standards that could be enforced. You don't have to use a burqa. A hijab or a shayla still hint at her figure without letting her look like a whore. Consider your objectives. Why do you want to know if any woman might be attractive? Consider the tradeoffs. Shaming them to not be fat is also a good idea to promote health.

@VooDooMedic In my opinion, a standard similar to Islam's standards for womens' clothing (because the intent is to hide their sexual assets) would do a great deal of good to fix the issue of females looking like whores. Be wary that shaming openly may put a target on your back, but I agree that social shaming works.

@37712 @Tfmonkey Then don't talk about those things. Let them talk. You can ask questions to get them talking. Remember your objective is to have a relationship, not become one of them.

It does take a little bit of effort, but think of it like an investment in your interpersonal skills. It will make them like you more if you are a good listener and you take an interest in what they like. Yes, it is boring to listen to them talk about X, but to them, listening to you talk about Y is boring. You have to meet them on their level as TFM said if you want a relationship with them in one or more areas. I hope this helps.

I understand your frustration. I have no interest in sports; so, I learned the absolute basics of the games and the leagues so I could ask enough intelligent questions to get them talking. For example, I learned the basic rules of basketball, football (both kinds), and hockey as well as the names of the leagues and when the major events like playoffs and championships were held. This way I could ask, "Does X team have a chance of winning Y championship this year?"

Francis is misguided and an idealist to women as evidenced by the following passage:
"They [women] can, if they will, create and maintain higher standards of thought and purpose, raise the whole tone of national life, and give our civilization the fullness that it lacks ; for, if they raise themselves, they will infallibly raise the men with them."

I was just reading "The Woman Question" by Francis Parkman, and he nails a few points about the differences of the sexes. His understanding from 1879 could not have known the travesty that the welfare state would bring. To Francis, women were not equal to men for obvious reasons, but he over-emphasized the ideal that a woman could fulfill as under patriarchy.

I've heard of the "J-Q" and TFM's "The Amish Question", but have you ever heard of "The Woman Question"?

It's another gem from Francis Parkman from the North American Review from 1879.

@Tfmonkey These are good for morale if she's on posters and such.

@Tfmonkey @ButtWorldsMan My waifu does this type of thing frequently. I'm often saying things like "stop sitting on the counter, that's where food goes," or "the cake batter goes in the pan, not on your arm"

@ButtWorldsMan @Tfmonkey I absolutely love this clip from DovahHatty. It is probably him at his "hattiest"--that and his Morrowind video.

@ButtWorldsMan @Tfmonkey I still don't understand what was going on with that; so, I just let it sit.

@ButtWorldsMan @Tfmonkey Gehrman's actual doll is in the Abandoned Workshop, and he's long dead. The Plain Doll in the Hunter's Dream is intended for the Hunters since Gehrman is basically a shade in the Hunter's Dream given how he disappears and reappears in the garden or not at all sometimes.

An argument could be made that the Plain Doll is Gehrman's but I'd argue that it's sufficiently vague such that people could make her a waifu.

Regardless, I appreciate the input.

@rohrkrepierer You could explore the mundanity of running a ship and getting along with each other as a crew. If it's a big ship you could have them handle the interactions with a crew of less-than-reputable seamen.

Have any of the waifu lovers played Bloodborne?

The Plain Doll is a clear candidate to be a waifu for people. She is literally a doll, and she says things like this, "Hunters have told me about the church. About the gods, and their love. But... do the gods love their creations? I am a doll, created by you humans. Would you ever think to love me? Of course... I do love you. Isn't that how you've made me?"

Maybe people could get more used to the idea of a doll and a waifu using her analogously?

"...A single human mind may engender thoughts which the combined efforts of millions of lower intelligences cannot conceive. This is not the faith of Demos. In his vague way, he fancies that aggregated ignorance and weakness will bear the fruits of wisdom."
