@Scubbie Just have a way to collect, purify / filter, and store water. Multiple redundant techniques at once. Iodine, bleach / chlorine pills, boiling, evaporation (distilling), morning dew collection, rainwater, filtration.

Road maps are cheap online for each state, and you should use zoomed-in Google map printouts of areas you may need (and more than one copy, in case your people get separated). Also handy to have is the state's gardening stats, from here, so you know what zone you're in and when / what to plant for food:

As a prepper myself, I'd always just remind people to consider more than one guy's perspective and opinions, rather than follow just one channel religiously.
People who need direction will benefit the most from doing this when they feel lost. Put together a playlist and run through it, saving the best and clearest ones. AND WRITE DOWN what you learn. (And buy good books with illustrations.)
