@VooDooMedic - Well, it's a cost/benefit analysis. Genocide is a lot of work - gotta be thorough. And being a mutt myself, it wouldn't make a lot of sense for me. 🤔😅
I'm perfectly fine with a mass purge on ideological lines (I call it ideocide)... but that's even more work. You gotta investigate hundreds of millions to figure who goes into the dirt. That's serious work.
So, I prefer to start my own country after collapse. That's manageable, and ironically, it's the more realistic approach.
@VooDooMedic - To that point: Even if success were somehow guaranteed, why would I liberate a country for people who disgust me... and are disgusted by me and my own love of freedom?
I wouldn't. 💁🏻♂️
@VooDooMedic - I'm long winded, and not a fast typist. 😅
Personally, I don't think the overthrow is ever gonna happen in a way that results in a unified country. For this and other reasons, though I'm a natural citizen of the United States... I no longer call myself American.
I expect collapse, balkanization, and then the gun crowd will have their way in their own locale.
But there's a small chance things go different, if the govt gets dumber (maybe not so small a chance after all them). 🍻
@VooDooMedic - America is a big place, with lots of people. And there's been multiculturalism from the beginning (hence, the mutt pedigree). Point being, not everyone is on the same page, or holds the same values, or speaks the same language.
A lot of very vocal people love the thought of being a well-cared for slave, and if it costs their children... Well that's a sacrifice they're willing to make.
We're still trying to figure out who stands where.
@VooDooMedic - I once got pulled over for speeding when I wasn't. A car was passing me, and the radar gun must've picked that up. I talked my way out of it, but had I been unsuccessful... it's not as though I would've shot a cop over it.
Much like jumping out of a plane with no parachute, the "muh guns" maneuver can be pulled precisely once. And most all the people who would ever do such a thing, understand this.
So there's that to consider.
@ButtWorldsMan - Hits close to home. 👀
😂😂
@shortstories - I just always found it funny that children of a Muslim father are automatically Muslim and subject to apostasy, and that children of a Jewish mother are automatically Jewish and subject to apostasy.
So what happens when a Muslim guy and a Jewish broad get together? Is that where suicide bombers come from? 🤔🤔🤔
@shortstories - So I don't think that approach would work for most people, if anyone at all. It sounds like playing with fire.
I've seen misery ruin a few lives, and many relationships (of all sorts). Sometimes the people ruined by misery were children when they were ruined... and they had no part in the events that led to misery, and no part in the chosen response to misery. They were just at the mercy of a miserable soul.
Sorry to rain on a parade. I'm gonna think happier thoughts now.
@shortstories - Jacuzzis are often located right next to swimming pools. I'll usually jump into the cold pool periodically, just to enhance the warmth of the hot tub.
But that's just sensory contrast. I'm pretty sure that genuine misery is a different beast altogether. I've gone through spells of it. And I've known too many genuinely miserable people.
I have found misery to be self-reinforcing, and self-perpetuating in the absence of great conscious effort to find peace.
@Tfmonkey @VooDooMedic - In unrelated news, I've heard an export ban on civilian firearms companies was imposed today. And I also heard of an anonymous whistleblower employed with a major US ammo manufacturer, says that production lines have been shut down without explanation.
Both reports are unconfirmed (who am I? Walter Cronkite?)... But it could get interesting. Oh yeah, and apparently Kamala Harris publicly states US needs Australia style gun control within last couple days. 🤔🧐💪
@VeganMGTOW @Tfmonkey - free for 5 years work... I'm thinking that's homesteading? 🤔
To be fair, I wouldn't call that free, exactly. The land was often contested by indians. It wouldn't cost money, but homesteaders had to deal with the occasional raid, and sometimes it cost lives. 🫗
@Tfmonkey - day off. Recharge. Enjoy another day before shit pops off.
@UncleIroh - I believe that just such a world is on its way. 🍻 ...just as soon as living standards shit the bed, and life gets hard.
I'm actually kinda looking forward to it. 🫡
@shortstories - I'm not learning new languages. 🫡😅🍻
@Mike_Microwave - Good. 🥃
@PordanJeterson - Could be light-hearted silliness... 🤔 I think Kingdom of Jerusalem was a christian crusader state.
Or alternatively, the US is planning to the make it the 51st state. I just can't see that happening though. 🧐🍻
@dander - Yes, I've reached this conclusion as well. Life has always been about balance - even outside of humanity, this is true. Balance is a fundamental property of the universe.
The application of violence needs to be balanced. I'm in favor of slaps - but not in favor of punches. I mean, things are bound to go too far at times, but a man should try to keep it minimal. 🍻
@philosophy @Tfmonkey - Oh, don't mind me... I was just yanking a chain - for funsies. It sounded funny in my head, at least. 😅🍻
@Pain66 - I mean, I prefer reason over violence... But some knuckleheads just can't reason. 💁🏻♂️
