@mutageno @spectre
You're right about this @mutageno. BlackRock own between 30-40% of the top Fortune 1000. That's an enormous amount of power and influence.

Examples? Enough power so that they can force Exxon to hire hostile board members that can force through renewable tech.

Or forcing boards to adopt 30% diversity - 2 or women + at least 1 minority.

It's CCP-style fascism through the back door.

@mutageno Somehow, this mimics real life. I'm not sure whether they are honest or irony explosion.

I'm seeing the creeping signs of the control outside the West now. So many people are going to be caught flat footed when this shit hits. Going to be a lot of people who go into the metaphorical box cars due to lack of understanding and preparation.

@mutageno Men keep adapting, women eventually run out of tricks.

@[email protected] It seems like it would be easier to just make robots.

@[email protected] And sadly only NOW the conservatives are beginning to realize the people they championed for the last 70 years are turning their guns now to THEM.

Well, better late than never?

@Sui @[email protected]

I mean, Erin wasn't wrong really. That is why the next few years are going to be...unpleasant no matter how it plays out.

@[email protected] Kind of a disingenuous argument though.

Since Libertarian minded people make up <20% of most western populations, and most people want to have someone make decisions for them and take care of them like a parent, you are going to have to create structures for them to exist within. Most people CANNOT handle freedom, which leaves you with two options. Control/take care of them like children, or dispose of them.

@[email protected] It really is surreal. Especially because so many people are ignorant of what is coming.

I think I understand a lot of the "Twilight Zone" episodes now.

@ze You honor me with that offer. I am just starting my Linux journey (because fuck Micro$oft) but I think I will see how far I get on my own. Your time is much more valuable helping the community.

@[email protected] I cannot tell if this is from an excess of childlike hope, or an absolute lack of any sort of pattern recognition.

Watching people try to justify it is painful.

@ze I find it hard to describe how badly I WANT to understand this.

Endless respect to the true techies. I'll stick with my math and an intense hatred of java.

In modern times, a good man is defined as someone who makes himself useful to and serves women.

In ancient times, philosophers defined a good man as one who acts with wisdom, justice, courage, and moderation.

No ancient philosopher ever defined a good man in relation to serving women, taking care of women, providing for women, etc.

My hunch is that it began with Christianity wherein "good men" sacrificed their lives for God, and in time gynocentrism replaced sacrifice for God with women.

@ze @redmaple That will probably be the last call for growing communities like TFM said. I've been building one outside of the West and if the supply chain goes we can all band together and figure out the last useful guys.

If someone hasn't figured out shit until that moment though, they're likely unsalvageable, even if they are you neighbor unless they have REALLY useful skills.

@houseoftolstoy What blew my mind the most is the fact that some people, any one at all really, accepts that heart attacks happen to perfectly healthy children.

When pressed they seem to believe there is some sort of massive epidemic of undiagnosed heart defects, that magically didn't appear till AFTER this shit started.

I used to feel bad for them, now I wonder if it's better this way. RIP my heart.
