@shortstories @djsumdog If you want to learn programming stuff, you can ask pretty much anyone around here.
I don't recommend starting with js because it necessarily leads to web, because any time you have the option to use any other language, you should take it; The only time you don't have that option is when trying to run code in someone else's web browser.
I actually don't recommend starting with python either just because it will fuck you quietly in certain specific areas unless you know C; though those areas are relatively quick to explain.
Everyone has strong opinions on every language. Bash is probably the most immediately useful.

@Zergling_man
My plan was to practice javascript by using an internet browser to open programs offline

I tried to learn python via an online public library course but could not even get it installed this was years ago

I have decided to give up on learning any programming languages for now

Whenever I need to learn things whatever the current thing is will change by then, if I ever need to learn such things

That is why I prefer to stick with math, physics and chemistry it does not chamge

@Zergling_man @djsumdog

They could be a good intentioned but misinformed plant who was duped by a third party

@djsumdog @Zergling_man

If they can ruin information about open source software and ruin future editions of open source software and remove past editions of open source software then they can more easily maintain their monopoly

@djsumdog @Zergling_man

I think they wanted to avoid moral accountability or accountability for being caught making mistakes

I think some people infiltrated it and made it into a cult

And maybe it is also part of their planned cyber pandemic

They do not want people to have easy open source alternatives

They want a monopoly so they can control lines of communication to prevent access to information that will get people to doubt they should have blind faith in mainstream media

@Zergling_man @djsumdog

That article on package management you posted is helpful. It gives me vocabulary. I do not know much about this stuff. I tried to learn Javascript from an online course and it seemed really good at first and then it got into that library stuff. And I was like I just want to learn to write code from scratch and actually understand what I am doing instead of borrowing other people's code and I quit.

I am not very good with computer languages but wanted to learn

@shortstories @djsumdog They are, motherfuckers need package management, but that's really not what I'm talking about. It's a completely different scenario.

@Zergling_man @djsumdog
If someone does not know how to program something or is too lazy to do it themself they will use someone else's library

These libraries can change at any time

So what might have worked might stop working when the library is changed

These libraries allow people who do not know what they are doing to look competant and slip in bad code that will malfunction later after they get paid to do their job.

I would suggest that these libraries are an additional serious problem

@Zergling_man @djsumdog

I would suggest there are two reasons for the difference

1 Having more code to run slows down everything in exchange for doing whatever adfitional feature is provided by running the code

2 The problem is not primarily from Javascript itself other than the mistake of whoever put the library feature. I would suggest the problem is with people who are bad at computer programming writing the code in Javascript using libraries because they do not know how to program

@Zergling_man @djsumdog

If I had to guess it is not javascript that is the problem but javascript libraries plus trying to keep things updated that is the problem

If you write code to do certain basic things that do not need constant updating and do not access a library then if it works it should continue to work

Once someone puts library software in the code working code can malfunction when the library changes

@djsumdog

That makes it hard to archive and maybe impossible to archive with web dot archive dot org also known as the way back machine

Additionally by clicking I am human they can spy on you

Why does Arch Wiki, a public open source documentation system, not want a crawler to index their site? People can scream AI all they want, but the admins are also destroying any new attempts to break into the search engine market. Do they think Google/Bing/Yandex don't already get past this, or do their servers return different results for the big search bots?

People use to be able to view Arch wiki without Javascript. Now they can't. 😡

Gonzo17 does your youtube video have a thumbnail

I see no image preview nor embedded video player when I share this video of yours in a link

Can we take the number of cases by public school employees divided by the number of public school employees and compare that with the number of cases by priests divided by the number of priests

Someone might argue that there are more public school employees than priests & that is why the number of cases involving public school employees is higher

Either way the rabbis seem to be more likely to be violators than priests

But the last two Catholic popes were pro Jewish

Cherry Smiley, from the Nlaka’pamux (Thompson) and Diné (Navajo) Nations Indigenous Scholar Debunks “Two Spirit” Gender Concept As Colonial Fabrication

https://www.newwesttimes.com/news/indigenous-scholar-debunks-two-spirit-gender-concept-as-colonial-fabrication/article_68ac36aa-eb92-11ee-be40-633a3a11ae1b.html

"Speaking to a packed “Feminists Speak Out” event in Burnaby last week, Canadian indigenous scholar and author Cherry Smiley, Ph.D., debunked the uncritically accepted “two spirit” gender jargon as a colonial fabrication having no basis in First Nations culture.

Smiley told the audience of two hundred that her research found that the “two spirit” expression was coined in 1990 by American indigenous gay rights activists to describe someone who is both gay and indigenous.

Transgender dogma upends the feminist position that women have been oppressed by men by positing that men can also be women.

“Women are f---king pissed off,” said a blunt and sometimes comical Smiley, who is from the Nlaka’pamux and Diné Nations.

Smiley, author of Not Sacred Not Squaws: Indigenous Feminism Redefined, was displeased that transgender activists have hijacked indigenous culture by claiming that the concept of “two or even three or four genders” is echoed in and validated by First Nations beliefs.

“First Nations women know where babies come from,” said Smiley to laughter and applause, underscoring her view that biological sex, not "gender," defines the indigenous worldview on male/female relationships.

Smiley elaborated, saying the idea of sharply divided sex roles, and the nebulous “gender” concepts that supposedly flow from those roles, were not rooted in traditional indigenous life.

Smiley painted a picture of indigenous women being required to be skilled in activities normally ascribed to men, such as hunting, out of the visceral motivation of survival. As such, Smiley contended, the idea of fluid or manifold genders was a colonial invention of “white men.”

Some people say soy increases risk of cancer & others say it decreases risk of cancer. Some say it depends on the type of cancer.

I suspect the genetically modified soy increases the risk of cancer and the organic or non GMO soy is safer.

Also soy is a seed. So if you eat the soy beans then you can not plant the soy beans to grow food. I just wonder how much massive time it must take to remove one bean at a time from a plant to get a bunch of beans for a single meal.
