People know less than 80% of Chinese Characters that Japanese people know when they graduate from High School and then they be claiming to know Japanese

And they are so annoying about it and usually hardcore Democrats and news believers

Dunning Kruger

I have the decency to say I do not know Japanese even if I might recognize some characters that I almost never see anywhere

I have a proposal to address the ICE activity/immigrant welfare fraud/immgration issues in general. This is a proposal I doubt anyone on the left would agree with (and probably a good number on the right too).

I accept ending all ICE raids and activity on the condition that we abolish all welfare and welfare adjacent programs. If the immigrants are really making it on their own, then welfare being gone will not affect them.

And to make sure we do not fall into the trap that short sighted libertarians do, the order of operations goes like this: the welfare ends. THEN we can stop ICE activity. Thinking the order of operations are interchangeable shows that you have no ability to think.

Why Women Over 40 Start Choosing Men They 0nce Ignored: The Truth No One... youtube.com/watch?v=WUAdH0wc2H

@neopolitan Actually IIRC what I investigated following that was rsync, and I read the entire fucking manpage for rsync and still never figured out what an rsync module is.
Like when you use rsync daemon mode the path you specify names a module, but there's no explanation of what that means.

OHHHHH MAYBE I NEED TO READ rsyncd.conf(5), THERE'S A WHOLE SECTION ABOUT MODULE PARAMETERS

@shortstories @nomebullyyou Biden probably was compromised back in the 70s. Plus I don't think anyone actually likes him so he'd be a buzz kill.

I think the most masterful writing seems simple and plain-spoken, but still manages to use interesting, obscure words, whilst always neatly framing these oddballs in a little tableau with other words so the meaning is perfectly clear.

This is kind of the opposite of how most jargon are applied: Jargon makes you stop reading and look things up. The writing may be more concise and precise but it's like stumbling over rubble to read it.

Use obscure words in a way that makes your readers feel smart and that makes them want to use those words too.

Don't use them to make people give up and feel lost. (and if you do that by accident, explain the word or fix it)

COOL: I'm using obscure words because they are so neat and I want to share them.

NO COOL: I'm using obscure words to keep people out, and make them feel like they can't keep up with me.
