And besides, any serious Christian should keep Romans 12:2 in mind:
"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."
Capitulating to the homosexual agenda in any way is conforming to the world rather than following God's will. So Pope Francis is wrong in his decision, regardless of any other motivations.
This is just going to make Catholics leave the church rather than increase their numbers. This example is just one country, but I don't doubt the trend is the same. Appealing to the gay agenda does not help you retain memberships.
Not that teachings and practices should be based on numbers alone, but this is both destructive to the core teachings AND to membership. So it is lose-lose. Which is why I see it as something that will be detrimental overall.
Of course they are not going to be happy with anything less than full blown embracing of homosexual marriage. They are never satisfied with any concessions, and even when they get their way they push for more.
Also, for any serious Christian a gay couple should not be "inferior to heterosexual partnerships," as same sex relationships should not be given any recognition at all.
Besides these "advocates" are probably not Catholic anyways, so why cater to them at all?
Even with Pope Francis being as he is, I did not think he would go this far. But he did. If his goal is to make people leave the Catholic Church, he is accomplishing that quite well with crap like this.
"But it is not actually marriage!" Shut up. We have seen how the story goes. You put one foot in the door and eventually it leads to the outcome that they claimed would not happen. This is the standard playbook.
Another great example we should all be aware of is "McCarthyism." I recall learning in school how Joe McCarthy was just so horrible when he accused people of being communists. But it turns out, he was correct. Blacklisted by History outlines this perfectly (worth the read).
I recall also the Stanford Prison Experiment was recently discovered to be a bunch of bullshit too, as it turns out the people running it had an agenda.
I am sure there are many other examples I am unaware of too.
On a sillier side of things, I really do not care if Michelle Obama is really a Michael. But I sure will not be shocked either way. A more plausible theory that can be true regardless of whether or there is a Michael or Michelle is that Sasha and Malia are not their daughters. Having children gives you a more positive image to the public, and all politicians know that. So it would not surprise me if those two girls were put on loan so that the First Family would not be childless.
It is not enough to understand that our government lies to us regularly. Many people realize this, but they are unaware of a bigger picture. That being the government is not just lying about small things, but much larger things.
Much of what we hold to be historical truth should be suspect. The moon landing? The official JFK assassination story? WWII history? You must be willing to accept that some of these accounts are lies if you think yourself truly skeptical.
Just what else is untrue?
@Aether How do the Irish manage to only have 2 bowel movements a week? Or even worse, North Macedonia being just once a week?
People see business owners the way women see men.
They only see the top 20% and ignore everyone else and it's so frustrating.
So I feel the need to set the record straight as I've been in business for almost a year.
1. Most business are SMALL. We don't have much runway. So stop ripping us off assuming we can take the hit, we cant.
2. If we seem greedy/cheap please see #1. We have no safety net so if we go under we're SOL. So we can't waste money.
TO be continued....
@ButtWorldsMan This should be of no surprise to him. Him being far left means he is support of every "decolonization" effort out there. Why should Israel get a pass? And it seems non-whites don't buy the "I'm not white I'm Jewish" excuse. Good.
@deprecated_ii Women on average have a lot more choices than men when it comes to the dating world. They are far more likely to get men who are interested in them. It is just a matter of who they choose and if they choose anyone at all.
If a woman is in a bad relationship, it most often means she has a bad filtering criteria. Since men are far less likely to have options (plural), a man being in a bad relationship is not about how well he filters but whether or not he has any self respect.
Yes, I know Christmas was placed on top of an existing celebration at the same time of the year and all. But who cares? Christmas is more important than any pagan holiday, so Christmas it is!
Boy, a whole lot of "Christmas" songs that have are not actually about Christmas (that is, Jesus), were made by those who are not Christian! What a coincidence! Of course they want to make Christmas all about snow and presents, because they sure do not want it to be about Jesus!
Or whenever there is any mention of it being such a "wonderful time of year" without acknowledging WHY there is any celebration in the first place, you don't have to wonder why they are doing it. They just hate Jesus.
@Mongoliaboo @sardonicsmile there would not be an opportunity to accomplish this sort of thing if the conditions were not already ripe for this sort of thing to occur. Perhaps there is no one source to place all the blame, but there are a lot of people who were inactive that could have done more to prevent the decay from happening.
@WashedOutGundamPilot >in the end they don't want to DO the job, they just want to be SEEN as someone who does the job.
That applies to a lot of high status jobs out there. The pro-equality shills will justify this sort of thing because "it will inspire other girls to pursue that career." The only problem is if those girls are only going down that path because of a propaganda campaign, they will quit the moment they realize they did not want the job. And then the cycle repeats back at square 1.
Looks like this will be my new home. Warning: I (probably) have Asperger's, so my be prepared for my autism to show through.
I don't think I am a right wing extremist, but I am sure anyone with low testosterone might think otherwise.
