I just found out that a lot of my favorite songs are by the same guy from Fountains of Wayne -- Adam Schlesinger: like Josie and the Pussycats, & of course "Denise"
He's directly inspired SEVERAL songs on Irene's upcoming album.
It's the kick I needed to find the sound for my last few songs. I know where to look now, & can also find who he's collaborated with.
I even borrowed the "ooweeooweeoowee" part from "Pretend to Be Nice" & did something similar with an upcoming Tartan and Velvet song!

Never laughs or smiles in meetings (or at all) unless it's with another certain black.

Never returns my greetings (completely ignores them, in any location/time of day).

I think Candace is in the same place I am -- finally realizing that you have to entertain even the most ridiculous, wildest theories about what's really going on, going back centuries, at the deepest levels, from history to "science." All claims & everything taught in school. Everything in reality. Everything you thought you already had the answers on & had already investigated.
And you are at risk of real, permanent harm if you don't start doing the same for yourself.

I can't believe I missed this one from last week until just now as a musician.
@YuriyG He's a millennial in his very early 40's, if that. Just a few years younger than I. He's just a normie.
The remaining staff is the same. Awkward, can't connect. Too busy working on church tech and over-complicating things. Not studying the Word aside from daily Quiet Times and sermons. Quoting OTHER thinkers, and having bad takes when left on their own.
I'm taking the entire month of March off (and maybe more) and going church hunting.
My pastor is completely out of touch.
Complains that teens sleep with their phones next to them. Yeah, because that's their "evening book / reading material" AND their alarm clock.
Complains about a.i. companions solving relationships and loneliness. Yeah, because women are awful and no one helps or says anything.
^Wants deeper connections in our church, but never responds to messages asking him and his kids to do stuff with me and mine. Doesn't return texts or calls . . .

@Polfusilier Yes. It's a comfort to find a Buc-ee's. Decent bathrooms, real food, shopping, gasoline, snacks, souvenirs, vacation supplies, clothes, toys.
