@RodrickSage - I believe that the sooner you see, and accept, her imperfection... the sooner you will feel better.
This is easier said than done, I know. If you're looking for chemical assistance, I can't recommend Lion's Mane mushroom supplements enough. They're OTC, and the effect is subtle, but real. It allows your mind the flexibility to relax your focus on your heartbreak.

I believe that you are grieving - not for the loss of her, but for the loss of what could have been. Your vision was beautiful, and she couldn't see it - or she simply short-sightedly rejected it.

Back when I started prepping, a man had time to thoroughly analyze every incident, from every angle, to death. You could leisurely update your yarn-o-map and speculate on all the implications & hypotheticals.
And now? you can barely register one disaster before a new one hits. 🙄

@dander @VooDooMedic @Tfmonkey - is absolutely not an option. They get stuck often enough to be very annoying as a trucker (at about $800/tow)... but in adverse road conditions? - not happening. And there's no getting behind it and pushing.
Sorry. I don't mean to rain on a parade... But for the money, I think it's wiser to get a small fleet of used pickups. That way, all eggs aren't in one basket. And they'd be much more maneuverable. I like Ford Rangers for that.. They're common & cheap. 🍻
@dander @VooDooMedic @Tfmonkey - Like many, I drive these things on the regular.
In an SHTF scenario, they have their uses... but I probably wouldn't invest in one. They require good roads and support infrastructure. The most frustrating thing about driving one pre-SHTF, is finding suitable parking. And there are many restrictions on where they can travel (look for "no truck" signs in your town - they're everywhere.
Post-SHTF, forget about it. Off-roading, even to simply bypass a roadblock, ➡️
@FinalDresdonation - I've spent years planning a post-collapse village (it'd be pretty badass if TFM ever wandered in 😂).
The first building to go up, is a tavern/inn. Drinks and short order menu on the first floor, and rooms on the second floor.
Everyone knows that in any proper Isekai, the tavern is the place to be. 🍻

@Tfmonkey - On the bright side: There is a naturally occurring short-cut to finding something more important than one's self though, that doesn't necessarily require any simping. Have children.
And though I may not yet be able to articulate the exact mechanics of it, patriarchy once again appears to be an answer.
Through the process of having children under patriarchy, men would have access to a readily available source of instant perspective. And they would be better caretakers of society. 🍻
@Tfmonkey - I just noticed that I may have tripped over a paradox.
If finding something that matters more than one's self is key to letting go of ego, and what the world thinks of one... then that may present a problem for a philosophy that stresses the importance of the self.
I'm confident there is a resolution, if true, but I wouldn't know what that is yet.
Perhaps the reason our numbers are so small, is because a specific sequence of events is required to reach the mind-set. 🤔

Ironically enough, it was falling in love as a blue-pilled simp. She was all that mattered, and nothing else did anymore. Of course, she eventually did me very dirty, time and again. 🙄 😮💨
But I guess you could say, that it was finding something that (ill-advised or not) mattered more to me than myself.
