What you say makes perfect sense in theory but doesn't actually pan out in reality.

The problem with privatizing research is that if you come across a breakthrough that would lead into less profitability that study doesn't get published.

@shortstories none of that matters because if the gov doesn't fund research, private interests will and the same issue will occur.

Gov research it's one of the few things the government does that's actually worth a damn.

What they need to do is stop putting taxpayer from the research behind paywalls like JSTOR. Its dumb as hell and robbing the taxpayer
