If someone was in a information control cult then they might block people followed by making a big deal that they blocked them to try to make other people decide not to look at the information from that source and maybe too signal how virtuous you are for blocking them and to let people know you did not do the wrong thing in the cult leaders eyes but blocked them instead of doing the evil deed of listening

Why would I need to block hearing ideas from feds?

I should be persuading feds to change their mind about things or trying to learn why they believe the nonsense they do instead of blocking them
