Just look at how much people actually care about science, it’s practically no one.
But most importantly, scientific funding will never be privately funded because it’s not a viable business model. There’s no consistent production or output or goods that could be sold for a profit, plus the machines, tools and chemicals cost millions of dollars.
The only one that can foot the bill is the government unfortunately.
