@Based_Accelerationist

It's a short essay of 11 minutes, but it's worth it since it addresses most of what you're talking about and why conservatards always lose.

@Based_Accelerationist

And I 100% agree with that. That's the question that the Butlerian Jihad resolved.

I firmly believe that if we don't end the human race through our OP technology within the next 1000 years, we will have de-facto had to have succeeded in resolving this dilemma.

Technology is dysgenic,there's no denying that. It weakens us physically, morally and spiritually.

@Based_Accelerationist @Tfmonkey

I have no idea about the universe you're talking about, but the concept of intentionally limiting technology as a force multiplier in order to achieve the right balance between optimal human warriors and tech-assistance is one I'm familiar with.

The best fictional concept of this is Herbert's Dune universe and the Butlerian Jihad solved this precise problem.

Most sci-fi doesn't even think about this which makes the Butlerian Jihad approach unique.

@Mr_Mister @dander

That would be a funny debate.

Simulation Theory also leads to the same moral nihilism as karma-based ethics.

If we're just simulated objects in a computed construct then nothing anyone does can ever be really harmful since we're essentially bits and bytes in a video game.

Like karma, you can tell yourself it's OK to commit the worst crimes, GG out of there and then maybe re-spawn.

There are billionaire/millionaire tech-bro elites who legit hold this position.

@dander

This is the dark side of belief in Karma that people are NEVER willing to talk about.

They think karma is all about wishy-washy hippie peace bullshit, but if you take it seriously, as the Hindus do, then that girl getting raped by every authority supposed to protect her was her own fault. Her karma.

They have to bite the bullet and say that a baby getting raped to death is justified because of past life debt.

That's where karma-based ethics inevitably leads, Indian society.

@ButtWorldsMan

Look closely enough at any of their demands or views and it always comes down to butt sex. Always.

@Zeb @ButtWorldsMan

Here's another tidbit of history. Cody Wilson, the guy who pretty much invented the 3D gun, formed his own version of Patreon after they kicked him off.

Like a chad, he called it Hatreon, and it went bust because Visa and Mastercard refused to do business with him.

@ButtWorldsMan

Even I wasn't prepared for that. Stats like this are invaluable.

@AscotMan

"Gradually I began to hate them."

Such a simple and honest account of what happens when you get redpilled. It's one of his best lines.

@Mommy

There is a source, but I still found this funny. Good job 🤣

@shortstories

Janice Fiamengo is the real deal. Sommers was always controlled opposition.

@DoubleD @VooDooMedic @Tfmonkey

There is no better way to understand this than to read the books of the men for whom Sadism and Masochism are named.

From the Marquis de Sade, I'd say read "Justine", or else "120 days of Sodom."

I had a copy of Masoch's "Venus in Furs" years ago, but didn't finish it.

Sade was the ultimate degenerate, literally nothing off limits. I always find it funny that people leave him out of discussions about Enlightenment philosophy. He was pure Enlightenment.
