@Based_Accelerationist @RodrickSage - Yeah... These last few years have been eye-opening. We are currently running the experiment of "what would happen if..." and the results are very disappointing.
It actually reminds of an abusive relationship, and probably, the same principles of human nature are involved.

@shortstories - ➡️ Warriors would still be obligated to provide for any war-brides they keep. Any surplus out-group females from a conflict, can be brought back to the in-group community, where they can be sold as brides.
Such a system would incentivize young in-group men to become warriors in hopes of getting their pick of a war bride. And second-tier war brides aren't necessarily doomed or abandoned, but are given a second chance on the market.
@shortstories - For post-collapse in-group pairings, I would have fathers choose their daughter's husbands. This seems least likely to result in sociopathic matches. No doubt, there would be a few... 🤔 But over the course of generations, that hazard would be minimized through selection pressure.
For post-collapse out-group pairings, war brides would be chosen by the warriors who triumph. After a conflict, women of the adversarial community are divided among the warriors. ➡️

To my mind, 🤔 if you can't articulate something, then it probably doesn't make sense. And that much is obvious here, but the way this guy seems perfectly content to maintain his position, while being unable to even articulate that position... Well, it makes him sound non-human to me - like his life doesn't actually count as a life.

Reasons to expect it:
Electric and petro-energy infrastructure is complex and requires specialized knowledge. If you were to remove 10% of the population at random, the odds that infrastructure will endure, 🤔 seem very slim.
Govt is a thin veneer. They'd have their hands full trying to lock down the top 5 cities in the US, even with an intact power grid and full gas stations.

@shortstories - hatred is never helpful, and creates new weaknesses within the holder of it. Hatred is an emotion of self indulgence. It's natural in some circumstances, but never beneficial to an individual.
