After eating nothing but steak and butter for about 2 weeks, I now get the appeal of "medium rare". I used to never like rare steak, but I've been buying tougher cuts of steak to save money, and cooking them medium rare makes them easier to chew, and I don't have to saw through them with a steak knife.

@Tfmonkey Might be worth getting a thicker cut that you can sear in the pan and then transfer for the oven for 20/30 mins. After removing from the oven, let it sit for 10 mins under tinfoil to allow it to soften up.

@Tfmonkey mountain dew isn't kosher you philistine! Be a real man and cook a porterhouse or a tomahawk

@Tfmonkey Same experience when I switched to carnivore diet. Eventually I started drinking raw eggs mixed with heavy cream and whey protein shake powder.

@Engineer protein shake powder has a lot of bad stuff in it. You might do well to just drink water.

@Tfmonkey @Engineer Whats the bet mainstream "protein shake' has no real protein
its goyslop

Better off with Distilled water with salt and lemon
@Engineer @Tfmonkey If you want protein

Go cook up

Steak
Bacon
Eggs
Mushroom

in butter/ghee
on the BBQ

@Tfmonkey Yeah, you're right. But I would wager a fair chunk of change that unflavored whey concentrate has a lot less aspartame and similar carcinogens/toxic slop than mountain dew. The errant mistake people make in whey is getting the overpriced walmart synthetically flavored slop, rather than buying unflavored concentrate from a supplier.

Dont take it the wrong way, I consider myself a bit of a man of science, and I just don't want to see you mess up your experiment via ancillary variables.

@Tfmonkey Also zero calorie soda still has lots of bad stuff in it. You might do well to just drink water.

@Tfmonkey keep at it at least 6m. you really don't have to be 100% steak. you can eat anything that came from an animal. even spices are ok. they are plants but the miniscule amount makes it irrelevant(unless you are extremely sensitive, which you need to find out for yourself). many drink coffee and teas. ymmv. but there are a lot of foods that come from animal, plenty of choices and variety. also, steak is the only one food you will never get tired of eating.

The smokey flavors come from the Malliard reactions. Make sure it has a nice crust.

@Tfmonkey

That picture says steak and mountain dew not steak only

I hope you take vitamin pills or vitamin supplements with that steak

How do you get calcium on steak only?

@shortstories @Tfmonkey Beef have at least 18mg of calcium in 100g

Everything you need is in meat and you can find out which nutrients you really need.

fdc.nal.usda.gov/food-details/

@Stahesh @Tfmonkey

If you assume a 1000 milligram RDA for the 19 to 50 year age group based on table 1

1000 mg / ( 18 mg per 100 grams of beef ) = approximately 5555 grams of beef

About 5 or 6 kilograms of beef per day

ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/Calc

@shortstories @Tfmonkey Why you believe them? when you can see that cows need 18mg for 100g of meat.

Next do math how much cow needs to eat grass to get same value of calcium.

Not mentioning this is what you need to build it from scratch.

You need more as kid but in adulthood you need less because it is easier to maintain than to build.

@Stahesh @Tfmonkey

Humans are not designed to digest grass

Humans can drink cow milk, or yogurt or cheese that has less lactose per calcium

They only need about 3 or 4 eight ounce cups of milk

mayoclinichealthsystem.org/hom
"Calcium-rich foods include:
Plain, low-fat yogurt: 415 mg per 8 ounces
Cheddar cheese: 307 mg per 1.5 ounces
Nonfat milk: 299 mg per 8 ounces
Fortified orange juice: 300 mg per 8 ounces
Salmon: 181 mg per 3 ounces
Kale: 100 mg per 1 cup
Raw broccoli: 21 mg per 1/2 cup"

medium rare is the way.

For tougher cuts, try some good marinades. I like a good London Broil marinade but go with whatever you like.

@midway marinades don't tenderize meat, they infuse the meat with flavor like a sauce without the sauce.

I could tenderize the meat with a meat tenderizer, but it's fine.

It depends on what you use. Acids in a marinade can tenderize it. Oils are the infusers.

Pounding it can also help.

@Tfmonkey That doesn't look like triple-distilled water and I clearly see seasonings on that bitch! Did you even ask if the steak was organic, grass-fed, ethically-raised, free-range, Ivy-league, bonafide, homegrown, English-speaking cows? You're not even using ceramic cutlery. It's like you're not even trying.

get some chuck eye steaks they real tender cheap and lots of fats

@Tfmonkey So how is your symptoms doing after carnivore?

@Stahesh no improvement yet. I'm losing weight though. The Prednisone causes weight gain so it's nice to see the scale move back down.

@Tfmonkey @Stahesh
I know you like different Teas,Have you tried Yerba Mate I switched to the Guyaki brand a 5 months ago when I quit alcohol,I have experienced minor weight loss but could be to the reduction of alcohol more than the tea
