I believe the primary reason why people speak of an Israeli-Palestinian conflict as opposed to a Jewish-Muslim conflict, or of a Russia-Ukraine conflict instead of an attack on Christian Orthodoxy is because doing so would draw attention to the actual battlefronts being fought, which are metaphysical worldviews and their consequences.
